A new concept, pioneered, in Birmingham,by Henry Browne solicitors –
The aim is to resolve matters in a dignified respectful manner. It is about resolving issues before they become major problems. It's about putting the person before the legal protocol and constraints imposed by the courts.
It is about personal relationships, restoring peace of mind, eliminating fear, anguish, despair and complicated procedures that could damage the family and state of mind and chew up and swallow personal finances. Collaborative practice means you and your family are the primary focus. It's a people centred approach seeking resolution, placing you in the driving seat.
Essentially, both parties work with specially trained collaborative lawyers. Each party receives legal advice and guidance, and together with their lawyers discuss and resolve issues through face-to-face meetings. A key element to collaborative practice, is the ability for you to set the agenda. So that you will not feel as if you're being pulled along a legal conveyor belt. Collaborative practice means that other professionals can be included in the process, including counsellors, mediators and financial specialists to help you reach agreement.
Provided, everyone enters the process in good faith. The process is faster and less acrimonious than court proceedings.
“less stress, you decide the pace and remain in control of the process…”
